STEP 1
Botanical Maceration

The foundation of Vanaha begins with the careful selection of botanicals, chosen after months of research and rigorous trials. These botanicals are steeped in a neutral spirit during maceration, allowing them to release their essential oils and flavours. This process is carried out with precision, using carefully controlled time and temperature to ensure the optimal extraction of characteristics from each ingredient. The balance achieved at this step sets the tone for the depth and complexity that defines the gin.

STEP 2
Copper Pot Distillation

After maceration, the infused spirit undergoes copper pot distillation, a traditional technique known for its ability to produce exceptional spirits. The Bain-marie process is employed here, involving indirect heating through a water bath. This ensures the botanicals are distilled gently and evenly, preserving their delicate essence. The copper pot interacts with the spirit to remove impurities and elevate smoothness, while advanced technology ensures consistency. Imparting a bold, layered profile to the gin while maintaining its finesse.

STEP 3
Vapour Infusion

For botanicals that are too delicate for direct maceration or distillation, vapour infusion is employed. In this method, the rising vapour from the heated spirit passes through a chamber containing a basket of botanicals, allowing to gently extract their essences without direct contact or overheating. This helps capture the lighter, more aromatic notes that add sophistication to the final spirit. The resulting flavours contribute elegance and balance, adding complexity without overwhelming the spirit. Ensuring a gin that is equally suited for neat sipping or as the base of a cocktail.

STEP 4
Cold Vacuum Distillation

In a first for Indian distilleries, cold vacuum distillation is used along with copper pot distillation and vapour infusion to truly raise the bar of quality and precision in gin making. A technologically advanced technique where distillation occurs at lower temperatures by reducing atmospheric pressure within the still, this step is particularly beneficial for preserving the integrity of botanicals with delicate or volatile compounds. By avoiding high temperatures, the natural vibrancy of the botanicals is retained, resulting in a fresh, lively spirit–the essence of which would otherwise be lost in traditional methods.

STEP 5
Staging

The final step is staging, where the spirit is allowed to rest and stabilize. This crucial phase ensures the flavours meld seamlessly, creating a harmonious and well-rounded profile. During staging, the spirit undergoes fine-tuning and rigorous quality checks to ensure consistency and excellence in every batch. Staging brings balance and refinement to the gin, allowing the flavours to mature and integrate fully. It guarantees a smooth, polished finish, elevating Vanaha to a premium spirit that stands apart.
